Meet the Cre8tive Dreamtime Makers Program

 
  • Program Description
    Meet the Cre8tive Dreamtime Makers Program, introduces first nations manufacturing and engineering STEM connections to both indigenous and non-indigenous primary school students and parents. This regional social enterprise program has indigenous STEM educators engage with local indigenous to deliver a one-day program showcasing 6 workstations for young people. This program showcases the boomerang as the first piece of aerospace engineering, the digeridoo as the first manufactured wood wind instrument, land care, dugout canoe and more. This program is part of our Reconciliation Action Plan to identify our First Nations people as the manufacturing and engineering pioneers of our land. Approximately 320 students.

Climate Action Schools Partner Program (CASPP)

 
  • Program Description
    Climate Action Schools Program (CASP) involves an industry LEAN expert spending 20 days over a 10-week school term turning a school's waste into a commercial income stream. Program includes education of school's waste & utilities. Staff via workshops aligned to industry quality management systems i.e BOS; design planning and implementation of a sustainable program including networks of recycling partners, ongoing maintenance and check in support.

Makers Empire
STEM Primary program

 
  • Program Description
    Makers Empire is a design thinking software program using CAD and additive manufacturing (3D printing) to primary school students and teachers. Teachers attend 2 days face-to-face professional development, design and teach a unit of work aligned to the curriculum then transfer to students. Project delivered over 2 terms (20 weeks) with an Expo Community Showcase to finalise program. Pre and post data provided with project report outcomes and connection to industry. Includes 3D printer and 5 rolls of filament, hospitality included on development and showcase days and a 12 month subscription to the program.

Women Who Weld
Schools Partnership Program

 
  • Program Description
    Women Who Weld – SPP is a one-day MIG welding experiential program teaching young people Yr10 the skill of welding. A product i.e. Jewellery Tree, Wind Chime etc is taken home. This is a partnership program. The school delivers the training and the venue. Industry provides funding to the school for consumables and for marketing. This program is hosted before September each year before subject selection. Min 8 Max 15 students per workshop.

LEAN Teacher & Student Workshops & Kits

 
  • Program Description
    One day workshop with a LEAN expert teaching 4 x 6 min simulations in a 90 min lesson. Includes industry designed: The advantage of physical flow, the meaning and importance of bottlenecks, Balancing of process times, customer takt time & Kanban inventory management.

One day experiential programs eg CNC

 
  • Program Description
    One day scalable workshops can be developed which fill the knowledge gaps between teachers in schools and industry eg This one day CNC programming workshop was developed to trigger the 44 manufacturing trade training centres with CNC’s which were laying dormant. TAFE now offer this program regularly.

STEM Teacher & Student Industry Tours

 

Program Description
Connecting school teachers and students to industry through STEM tours. These behind-the-scenes factory tours connect schools and industry in a multiple of ways, safety inductions, continuous improvement projects and STEM curriculum contextualization.

Women Who Weld
Community Program

 
  • Program Description

A product i.e. Jewellery Tree, Wind Chime etc is included in this hands on experience. This is a partnership program delivered with TAFE. TAFE delivers the training and the venue. Industry pays for the consumables and the marketing and attends as part of the partnership. Min 8 Max 15 participants per workshop.

QMI Industry Engagement Framework – Industry5.0

 

Program Description
QMI’s industry engagement framework triggers sustainable talent pipelines for SME manufacturers through the development of industry specific hubs. Bringing together all parts of the skills ecosystem inc government and supported by the Queensland Reference Group for Manufacturing and Engineering (QRG), QMI develops action plans based on supply chain data of multipliers and brings communities together to decide their future together. This program activates purpose built regional trade training centres.
