Shaping the Energy Future
Pilot Initiative - Launching Sep 2025
Queensland Manufacturing Institute (QMI), in partnership with the Western Downs Regional Council (WDRC), is inviting local manufacturers to take part in a pilot initiative launching in September 2025.
About the Pilot
The pilot offers a range of short, practical projects designed to test different tools and approaches that support manufacturing businesses. Options include:
Lean 1-on-1 sessions
Eco assessment tools and reviews
Other targeted assessments and support projects
Each pilot project will run for a maximum of three months, with some activities delivered over just a few days and others spanning several weeks, depending on the scope.
How Participation Works
All WDRC manufacturers are welcome to express interest.
From the EOIs received, two manufacturers will be selected to participate in this round.
This ensures a fair selection process and helps QMI and WDRC gauge interest in different offerings, informing future program design.
Why Get Involved?
Gain early access to tailored tools and assessments.
Provide input that will help shape future support programs for the regionโs manufacturers.
Connect directly with industry specialists and QMI facilitators.
How to Apply

This program supports long-term sustainability by enhancing economic, social and environmental liveability and sustainable regional growth and economic diversification.
