This one hour webinar will explore how manufacturers across the Western Downs region can expand into emerging energy markets and strengthen their competitive position in a rapidly evolving landscape.

With a strong local presence of wind and solar projects, manufacturers are increasingly seeking to diversify into new energy sectors. This session will provide practical insights into current and future opportunities, including hydrogen and battery technologies, and how local businesses can position themselves to participate in upcoming projects.

SPEAKERS:

Paul Hodgson (Director, Centre for Hydrogen & Renewable Energy - CQ University)

Paul brings over 30 years’ experience across the energy and innovation sectors. He will share insights from his work in hydrogen and renewable energy, exploring emerging supply chain opportunities and what they could mean for regional manufacturers.

Dr Nagesh Shukla (Professor - Department of Management at Griffith Business School, Griffith University)

Dr Shukla will provide an overview of Australia’s battery supply chain, drawing on his research and involvement in national industry studies. He will discuss current capability, component manufacturing and potential opportunities relevant to regional manufacturers considering new markets or diversification.

Abhiney Arora - (Executive Director - ICN QLD)

Tailoring company profiles using Gateway by ICN to better position manufacturers for upcoming opportunities.

Felix Ryan - (General Manager, Contracts, Procurement and Logistics - Arrow Energy Pty Ltd)

Felix will share a practical overview of how energy projects engage with suppliers, including what procurement teams look for when working with local manufacturers. He will highlight key considerations for businesses seeking to participate in current and future energy projects.
